One of the reasons I became so interested in the deep sea floor was actually because of a game! Developed by Frictional Games and released in Sepctember of 2015, SOMA is a sci-fi horror game where you play as a character stuck in an underwater facility on the Mid Atlantic Ridge in the North Atlantic Ocean. Although the game doesn't involve any acutal mining, it creates a stunning ocean atmsosphere as you traverse the ocean floor in search of the any signs of life. They do a wonderful job of making the playthough breathtakingly beautiful, yet eerie as the facility is run down and overtaken by marine life. At the moment, it is beacuse of games like this that I am able to imagine what it could be like to explore the vast ocean floor.
